We're hiring! Taproom Server - Part time

Tumbling Creek Cider Company is seeking candidates for Server in our Abingdon, VA taproom.

Tumbling Creek is a cider company focused on creating great-tasting, unique, heritage-inspired hard ciders, using Virginia apples and adjuncts sourced from the region. The taproom is designed to facilitate direct sales in a fun, easygoing environment. It will be the heart of our direct-sales operation and many customers’ first experience of Tumbling Creek Cider Company. Providing an incredible experience - including drinks, service and atmosphere - is essential.

The taproom server is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive experience during their visit.

Duties:

• Being an ambassador for Tumbling Creek Cider Company.

• Serving drinks according to Tumbling Creek Cider Company and Virginia ABC standards;

• Educating customers about TC3 ciders and the cider and craft beverage industry;

• Greeting customers promptly and courteously;

• Recommending and selling cider and merchandise to customers;

• Washing and sanitizing glassware;

• Daily assigned cleaning duties;

• Setting up and taking down daily operation and special events;

• Stocking and rotating inventory;

• Handling money and the POS;

• Being part of the creative process here at TC3 - your ideas count;

  Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old;

• Commitment to quality work in all tasks;

• Positive attitude;

• Able to work well in team environment;

• Ability to lift and move 60 lbs.;

• Intellectual and emotional flexibility and patience;

• Excellent people skills, communication, friendly and helpful manner at all times;

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule;

• Retail and/or restaurant/bar experience;

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists;

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively;

• Ability to resolve customer concerns constructively and calmly;

• Have or be able to acquire VA ABC server certification within 1 month;
